Popular Destinations

Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral provides visitors with history and information about the United States’ role in space exploration and innovation. You’ll get a close-up view of actual rockets, and even the Space Shuttle Atlantis. Just down the road at the U.S. Astronauts’ Hall of Fame, you’ll learn about the men and women who were pioneers in the industry.

Exploration Tower features seven stories of interactive exhibits to fascinate and educate, including a comprehensive history of the area. Visitors frequently comment on the unique architecture and novel souvenirs not available anywhere else.

From Exploration Tower, you can take a tour of the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse. The structure sits on a working Air Force facility. It includes stops at the nearby Air Force Space and Missile History Center. Admission to Exploration Tower is included in the lighthouse tour.

Free Fun

Visitors who want to connect with nature will love the Manatee Sanctuary Park. This 10-acre property situated on the Banana River features walking trails, picnic areas with grills, and other relaxation areas. Many visitors have even been able to get an up-close view of manatees! The park hosts two annual events: the Cape Canaveral Founder’s Day Festival (March) and the Space Coast Dragon Boat Festival (April).

Another nature favorite is Jetty Park. This 35-acre parklands area also features a sandy beach and nearby pier. Also on site are a playground and pavilions that are available for rent.

If you’re a museum lover, you’ll be glad to know that both the Foosaner Art Museum and the Ruth Funk Center for the Textile Arts offer free admission. At the Foosaner, both kids and adults will enjoy educational exhibits. The Ruth Funk Center displays an international collection of textiles.

Geocaching has become wildly popular in recent years, and Brevard County is a great place for the activity. Enthusiasts get excited about finding unique items and leaving special items in return. This family-friendly activity is a sort of new-age treasure hunt.

Located in Melbourne, the Brevard Zoo is a 75-acre animal habit and sanctuary. Most guests can complete a full tour in less than three hours. There is also a dining area on site, which is ideal for spending some quality time while waiting for your cruise.

Cocoa Village is located roughly 12 miles south of Port Canaveral. The area is full of unique shops and interesting sights to see. A nearby park will keep kids occupied and happy. The village is also home to the Florida Historical Society and the Cocoa Village Playhouse.
